The 2011 FX is Infiniti’s sporty, stylish and hi-tech luxury midsize crossover. The crossover has high performance, versatility, advanced safety technologies and bold styling.
The 2011 FX is available in two trim levels: base FX35 and FX50. The FX35 comes standard with rear-wheel drive and has the option for intelligent all-wheel drive which comes standard on the FX50 trim. The FX35 is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engines that outputs 303 horsepower and is paired with a seven-speed automatic transmission with Adaptive Shift Control. The FX50 boasts a 5.0-liter V8 engine that generates out 350 horsepower and utilizes the same transmission as the FX35.
The Infiniti FX35 comes standard with integrated fog lights, automatic xenon headlights, power rear liftgate, UV-reducing solar glass, keyless entry, push button start, power sliding moonroof, dual zone automatic temperature control and full power accessories. The seating and trim have leather-appointed seating, leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, 10-way power adjustable driver’s seat with two-way power lumbar support, 60/40-split folding and reclining rear seats and black lacquer interior trim. The standard premium audio system features 11 speakers, MP3 playback capability, speed-sensitive volume control, in-dash CD player, satellite radio, USB connection port and illuminated steering wheel-mounted audio controls.
The FX50 upgrades to 20 x 8-inch aluminum-alloy wheels and adds quilted leather appointed seating, climate-controlled front seats, navigation system, advanced climate control system and 9.3GB music storage.
There are multiple options and packages available if more features are desired. The Premium Package and Deluxe Touring Package equip the FX35 with many of the FX50 standard features. The Deluxe Touring Package on the FX50 upgrades the model with 21 x 9.5-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, maple interior accents and aluminum pedals. The FX50 also has an available Sport Package which includes auto and sport modes, rear active steer, sport style front seats and driver’s seat with four-way power bolster adjustment. Lastly, the Technology Package can be added to all FXs that are equipped with the Deluxe Touring Package. This Package adds intelligent cruise control, lane departure warning system, intelligent brake assist with forward collision warning, rain-sensing windshield wipers and adaptive front lighting system with auto-leveling headlights.
The interior of the Infiniti FX offers a luxurious and versatile cabin. The interior features 62 cubic feet of space and adaptive seating optimizes cargo capabilities. The cargo area is both low and wide for easy loading and accommodating of larger objects.
A slew of safety features come standard on the FX and including dual-stage front supplemental airbags, driver and front-passenger side impacts supplemental airbags, roof-mounted curtain side impact air bags with rollover sensor, front-seat active head restraints, brake assist, four-wheel anti-lock braking system, vehicle dynamic control, traction control and a tire pressure monitoring system.
