The 2011 Infiniti M is available in two trim levels: M37 and M56. Both models also have an all-wheel drive model, with all other features remaining the same. The M37 comes standard with 18-inch wheels, automatic bi-xenon headlights, foglights, a sunroof, power-folding heated mirrors, automatic wipers, keyless ignition and entry, dual-zone automatic climate control, leather interior, heated eight-way power front seats, driver memory functions, a power tilt-and-telescoping steering column, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, rearview camera, Bluetooth technology, and a six-speaker stereo with a CD player, auxiliary audio/visual jack, iPod interface and satellite radio.
The Infiniti M56 has all of the same standard features as the M37, but is upgraded with a larger engine. The M37 is powered by a 3.7-liter V6 that generates 330 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque. A seven-speed automatic transmission is standard on both models and includes manual shift paddles and four different shift modes (standard, sport, snow, or eco). The Infiniti M56 upgrades to a 5.6-liter V8 engine that produces 420 horsepower and 417 pound-feet of torque. The EPA estimated fuel economy for the M37 is 18 mpg city and 26 mpg highway. The M56 model has an estimated fuel economy of 16 mpg city and 25 mpg highway.
The 2011 Infiniti M comes standard with many safety features, including anti-lock brakes, stability control, traction control, front-side airbags, side curtain airbags, and active head restraints. Available safety options include a lane departure warning and prevention system, blind-spot warning system, and a forward collision warning system with intelligent brake assist. Both the M37 and M56 earned four out of five stars in the government’s new, more strenuous cash testing for 2011.
